Originally from Smyrna, Delaware, Reid grew up in a
family already steeped in the music tradition,
including a great-uncle who still records as a jazz
saxophonist, a trombone wielding grandfather who
once backed up Louis Armstrong, and a father who
has played blues and rock guitar throughout the mid-
atlantic since before Reid was born. Having first
learned how to play from his father, Reid cut his teeth
sitting in with his dad's band until moving to
Blacksburg, Virginia where he joined Little Rodger
& the Cheap Thrills, eventually performing at the
finals of the 2008 International Blues Competition in
Memphis and recording his debut album with the band,
"Big and Natural." Since moving to Atlanta in 2010,
Reid has played extensively throughout Atlanta and
northwest Georgia and is currently writing with the
Electromatics in preparation for their first studio release.
Since playing on stage, Reid has had the pleasure of
sharing it with some of the best in the way of blues and
roots music including Sean Costello, Oliver Wood,
Francine Reed, Joe McGuinness and Paul Thorn.
